Canada
Canada is the second largest country in the world by size just after Russia. Despite Canada’s great size, it is one of the world’s most sparsely populated countries. Comparatively few, Canadians have nevertheless created what many observers consider a model multicultural society, welcoming immigrants from around the world. Canada boasts stunning scenery, including vast forests, pristine lakes and picturesque coastlines that attract millions of tourists each year.
The capital of the country is Ottawa, other big cities include Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. Canada is officially bilingual in English and French, reflecting the country's history as a territory once contested by two of Europe's biggest powers. It also has a rich Native American heritage, which has gained in importance over recent decades.
