Following the damage caused by Hurricane Beryl, which struck the Caribbean at the beginning of July, Luxembourg responded favourably to a request for international assistance from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) to support the affected populations of the islands of Grenada and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Third day of economic mission to Japan: focus on start-ups during visit to Tsukuba and meeting with Japan-Luxembourg Parliamentary Friendship League
The third day of the mission was mainly marked by an event dedicated to the start-up ecosystem, at which the Japanese start-up "Thermalytica", a spin-off from the Tsukuba-based National Institute for Materials Science, active in space technologies, officially announced the opening of an office in Luxembourg. The event was held in Tsukuba.

80th anniversary of the Normandy landings
At the invitation of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, HRH the Grand Duke and Prime Minister Luc Frieden travelled to Omaha Beach on 6 June 2024 to take part in the international ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy.
