Australia

Situated in the Southern Hemisphere between the Pacific and Indian oceans, Australia is both the world's smallest continent and its sixth largest nation. Canberra, the capital of Australia, is located between the bigger and more significant cities of Sydney and Melbourne, which are major hubs for trade and culture. Other major urban centers include Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. Several Australian cities score repeatedly among the places with the highest quality of life. The climate ranges from tropical rainforests in the north to a Mediterranean climate along the southeast coast, and dry deserts in the interior of the country. The majority of the 27 million inhabitants lives in the highly urbanized areas along the South-East coast. As a member of the G20, Australia counts among the largest economies in the world. The Commonwealth of Australia, created in 1901, is a constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy, whose sovereign is King Charles III, represented by a Governor General. The official language is English.
